Blade Runner

Blade Runner is a film that was produced in 1982. Its stars Harrison Ford and it is a sci-fi action movie. The film poster features Harrison Ford and Sean Young. The Blade Runner poster possesses key conventions of sci-fi genre. The buildings shown underneath Harrison and Sean are futuristic and modern. This contrasts to the female protagonist. Her makeup costume and hair suggests that she is from the 80's. The futuristic buildings along with the galactic-like gun held by the male protagonist suggest that this movie may include a time travel element, which again indicates that this is apart of the sci-fi genre.

Scary Movie 2

From looking at the movie poster, you can immediately tell that it is not a traditional horror movie despite the title of the film as it does not include many key conventions of a horror/thriller movie poster. The character seen in the 'O' of the title along with the fake priest making a cross sign with his fingers, it is obvious that this movie will contain a plethora of comedic elements. The group of people featured on the cover are dressed in clothing that was mainly popular in the early 2000s, the styling of the costume is also something that shows the time that this movie was set in. Scary Movie was produced i 2001, so the choice of style (clothing and hair) was very relevant. 'What Lies Beneath' is written on one of the female's tops. This could potentially hint to the view that this movie will be paying homage or be a comedic/satire movie based on the 2001 movie 'What lies beneath'.

Uzak

There is a young man seen looking into a large hole within the ground. He has a concerned and worried look on his face. The blue skies in the background along with the stripped child-like clothing indicate that he most likely stumbled upon the whole whilst in a playground or at the park. The fact that a child is the main thing presented on the cover could suggest that the movie is about being young or childhood. The mention of it being a thriller along with the anxious look on his face could potentially suggest that this movie is about fears from a kids perspective or the worries and concerns that are faced during childhood.

Bride and Prejudice

This film, Bride and Prejudice released in 2004. From the film poster, it would be apparent that this film was set in Asia. The title Bride and Prejudice is a spin-off of the title of the movie Pride and prejudice. Viewers that see this poster will notice the link between the two movies and assume that this movie will have the same story line and will be intrigued to watch it. The two main characters in the foreground are seen stood back to back with two different types of Asian culture shown behind them. The back to back stance could present conflicting mindsets between the two characters and the different families could depict the cultural differences that are explored in the movie. The costume of all the people seen is very traditional to Asian culture and ties in with the theme of this film.

Million Dollar Baby

The writer suggests that this is because the writers want to appeal to people that are of ethnic minorities by portraying everything that is traditionally British as something that is negative. This belief, from the writer, is shown in the line 'Everything British came in for a dose of loathing'   Criticisms of Capital  'With a fizzle like a firework on a wet night, Capital (BBC1) dribbled to a soggy ending'.  This quote is quite critical of the plot to Capital however it made be argued that this criticism is valid. Video feedback/learner response

Video feedback/learner response Feedback from Mr Bush: Good decrease in volume Good use of contrapuntal sound Fade of sound at the end of video EBI: Highlight keywords Make the parallel sound clear  Feedback from classmates: They liked the introduction of the contrapuntal sound. My feedback: I enjoyed creating this video as I was able to show some of my editing skills to the teacher and my classmates. In my opinion, I think the highlight of my task was the volume dip so highlight the dialogue of the character. I also faded to a dark screen at the end of my video along with including a volume fad for the contrapuntal audio that I used EBI: I should've found a clip that included a higher volume of parallel sound or I could've put parallel sound in myself  The top 3 videos in the class were Nadima's and Tegan&Hannah's. They were successful as they made a clear distinction between the contrapuntal and parallel sound. I could've made my parallel sound clearer to th...
