Editing video feedback/learner response

Feedback/comments from Mr Bush

WWW:

  • Well formatted script
  • Effective use of music
  • Lower audio during dialogue
  • Very effective match on action
  • Excellent POV shot
  • Fade off at the end
  • Includes a film title
  • Very smooth cinematography
  • Proportional fixed shot
  • Shot-reverse shot

EBI:
  • Include every shot in the shot list
  • Smoother transition between the decrease in non-diegetic sound
  • Centre the dialogue on the script

I believe that I successfully met the brief of the task. I incorporated the three aspects of key editing that was required.

In terms of my strengths, I think I successfully achieved a smooth match on the action throughout the video. I also incorporated knowledge from previous lessons by using Jcuts and L cuts to achieve a smooth view time for the audience. I also made sure that the non-diegetic sound perfectly matched the tense conversation. In terms of weaknesses, it would've been better if there was no background sound from the students and teachers talking in the other classrooms. That was something that would have been done during the shooting stage.

In terms of difficulties during this task, I believe that the most difficult part was trying to decrease the volume of background noise without decreasing the sound of the dialogue
